Leon Black Sues US House Panel Over Epstein Subpoenas

Billionaire Leon Black sued the US House Oversight Committee on Thursday. He says its subpoenas about Jeffrey Epstein were improper.

Black also missed his planned deposition about ties to Epstein. Lawmakers held the deposition anyway.

They left an empty chair where Black should have sat. Black's lawyers say the documents don't relate to Epstein dealings.

Black has denied any wrongdoing. A Democrat called for holding Black in contempt.

That lawmaker says Black defied two subpoenas. The committee had subpoenaed Black for documents and testimony.

Black ended a voluntary interview in June. He declined to answer questions about the agreements then. Republican Chair James Comer will discuss next steps with the committee.
