Lil Durk Acquitted in Murder-for-Hire Case
Rapper Lil Durk was acquitted Friday of all charges. His real name is Durk Banks.
Prosecutors said he put a bounty on Atlanta rapper Quando Rondo. Rondo's legal name is Tayquian Bowman.
Prosecutors said the bounty was revenge for a 2020 shooting. That shooting killed Durk's friend Chicago rapper King Von.
The alleged plot was linked to a 2022 ambush in Los Angeles. The ambush killed Rondo's cousin Saviay'a Robinson.
Two co-defendants were convicted of stalking-related charges. But they were acquitted of murder-for-hire charges.
The acquittal does not end all of Banks's legal troubles. He still faces a separate racketeering trial reports say.
Klear Note — A murder-for-hire charge alleges someone paid others to kill a target. An acquittal means jurors found guilt was not proven beyond reasonable doubt.
