Macron Says France Will Ban Illegitimate Protests
French President Emmanuel Macron said on Thursday France would ban protests. He called the protests illegitimate and would ban them in coming days.
Junior interior minister Jean-Didier Berger spoke about this weekend's protests. Police presence will be 20% higher than last weekend.
Reinforcements will come from the army, elite police forces and gendarmerie. Riots and looting took place last weekend.
Macron blamed "seditious" ultra-left groups and vandals. Macron said the government would show "absolute" determination to stop riots.
