Stealthing is a form of sexual assault without consent. Sources say the Washington Post reported the second accusation.
Platner denied both accusations. He said he stopped his campaign due to pressure from political leaders.
He did not say the accusations caused his decision. Maine Democrats must now pick a new Senate candidate.
They have until July 27 to choose someone at a nominating convention. Several candidates are already seeking the spot.
The winner will face Republican Senator Susan Collins. The midterm election is less than four months away.
