Man Charged After Bomb Hoax Stops Peter Kay Show
A man has been charged after a bomb hoax stopped a Peter Kay show. The show was at Utilita Arena in Birmingham, England.
A bag found near the arena was reported as suspicious during the live show on Friday. The arena was cleared and Peter Kay was taken off stage mid-show.
Police later found no suspicious items. A 19-year-old man was taken into custody at the scene.
Omar Majed from Washwood Heath in Birmingham was charged in connection with the incident. He is due in court on Monday.
The show was part of Kay's Better Late Than Never tour. All money from the tour goes to 12 cancer charities.
Kay returned to the same venue the next evening. West Midlands Police said they were satisfied with security.
