Man Pleads Not Guilty to Trump Assassination Attempt
Cole Tomas Allen is 31 years old. He pleaded not guilty on Monday to trying to kill President Trump.
His lawyer entered the plea for him. Allen did not speak in court.
Allen faces four charges in total. These include trying to kill the president and bringing guns across state lines.
He also faces charges of firing a weapon during an attack. He is also charged with attacking a law enforcement officer with a deadly weapon.
If found guilty of the assassination attempt alone he could face life in prison. Allen is accused of carrying out the attack at the White House Correspondents' Dinner on April 25 2026.
The event was held at the Washington Hilton hotel. After his arrest Allen was placed on suicide watch. Jail staff later removed him from that status.
