Mass Shooting in Johannesburg Kills 12 People
Multiple attackers shot and killed 12 people late at night in Johannesburg, South Africa. At least 9 others were wounded.
The attack happened at around 11 p.m. on Tuesday at an informal settlement. Suspects arrived by minibus and entered through two entrances.
They fired at multiple locations then fled in the same vehicle. Police launched a manhunt for more than 10 attackers.
Investigators were still trying to find a motive. The area is linked to illegal mining activity. Sources say such shootings are sometimes connected to illegal mining gangs.
