Millions Attend Funeral for Iran's Killed Supreme Leader
Millions of people attended a funeral in Tehran on July 6. It was for Iran's supreme leader Ali Khamenei.
He was killed in US and Israeli airstrikes in February. The event was expected to last around 10 hours.
It is part of a multi-day funeral running July 3 to 9. Several family members killed in the same strike were also honored.
Their coffins were displayed alongside his. Former president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad appeared at the procession.
He had not been seen publicly since the war with the US and Israel began. Several other officials also made rare public appearances.
Iran's new supreme leader Mojtaba Khamenei has not appeared at any ceremonies. He is Khamenei's son and successor.
The event was seen as a show of strength by Iran's leaders. This comes as Iran holds peace talks with the US.
