NAACP Threatens Lawsuit Against xAI
The NAACP sent a legal warning to xAI on Friday. The warning says xAI is releasing pollutants without permits.
The affected neighborhoods are near the Tennessee and Mississippi border. The NAACP says xAI broke the Clean Air Act.
xAI installed 27 gas turbines in Southaven, Mississippi without permits.
The turbines power xAI's data center. The NAACP has 60 days before it can file a formal lawsuit.
Klear Note — The Clean Air Act is a federal law that protects air quality. Companies must get permits before installing equipment that releases pollution.
