Nearly 800 Arrested After France Champions League Riots

Nearly 800 people were arrested after clashes with police in France. The trouble started Saturday night after Paris Saint-Germain beat Arsenal to win the Champions League.

Riots spread to about 15 cities across France. Over 400 people were held by police nationwide.

Almost 300 of those were held in Paris alone. Fans set fires and damaged shops.

Some fans aimed fireworks at police. In total 219 people were hurt in the clashes.

That includes 57 police officers who were injured. Around 22,000 police had been sent across France before the match. About 8,000 of those were in Paris.
