Netanyahu Defends Israeli Military Action at UN, Delegates Walk Out

Dozens of delegates walked out during a UN speech. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was taking the podium.

Netanyahu defended Israeli military action across the Middle East. The New York Times said his speech stressed threats to Israel.

Netanyahu also criticized New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani. He accused Mamdani of being anti-Semitic.

Mamdani called the claims baseless. Mamdani pointed to an arrest warrant against Netanyahu.

The warrant comes from the International Criminal Court. The Washington Post said the speech appealed to Israeli voters.

Analysts said it targeted voters ahead of Israel's October 27 election. Mamdani had campaigned on seeking Netanyahu's arrest in New York. He later said city officials lacked authority to do that.
