New Evidence Links Suspect Gun to Agent Shooting
US Attorney Jeanine Pirro shared new evidence about an alleged Trump assassination attempt. She spoke on CNN on May 3, 2026.
Pirro said a pellet from suspect Cole Tomas Allen's shotgun was found in a federal agent's vest. The pellet matched fiber from the agent's vest.
This is the first public link between Allen's weapon and the shooting. Prosecutors had not said before whose bullet hit the agent.
The alleged attack targeted Donald Trump at the White House Correspondents' dinner. A federal agent was shot during the alleged attempt.
Allen also faces charges of attacking a federal officer. Pirro said more charges may follow.
