New York City Mayor Condemns Immigration Agent Shooting in Bronx
An agent from Immigration and Customs Enforcement shot a man Thursday afternoon. The shooting happened in the Bronx area of New York City.
The Associated Press reported that it happened during an arrest. Fox News identified the neighborhood as Marble Hill.
The Department of Homeland Security called it a “targeted enforcement operation.” The man was taken to a hospital. The New York Police Department said he was conscious.
He was getting medical care. The department said it was not involved in the shooting.
New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani condemned the shooting as “unconscionable.” Mamdani said early reports suggested agents surrounded the man. A five-year-old child was also in his car.
The reports said agents then fired multiple shots. Mamdani said the child was not physically hurt. He urged President Trump to end the agency's work in the city.
