Nurses Reach Tentative Agreement with New York Hospitals
Thousands of nurses in New York City reached a tentative deal. The New York State Nurses Association made the agreement.
Mount Sinai Health System and Montefiore Medical Center signed on. The strike lasted for weeks. Nurses will now return to work at these hospitals.
Klear Note — Nurses strike when they want better pay, staffing, or working conditions. Hospitals need nurses to care for patients, so strikes pressure hospitals to make deals.
