North Korea Fires Missiles Into Sea
North Korea fired missiles into the sea on Sunday. South Korea said this happened off North Korea's eastern coast.
South Korea said the first missile flew about 450 kilometers. The second missile traveled more than 600 kilometers.
Japan also detected a suspected missile. Japan said it did not land in Japanese waters.
South Korea and Japan are checking details of the launches. The missiles were aimed at North Korea's eastern waters.
The launches came days after North Korea made a statement. North Korea said it is a nuclear-armed country.
North Korea also rejected a United Nations resolution. The resolution called for North Korea to end its nuclear activities.
Klear Note — Ballistic missiles are rockets that follow a high, curved path before falling. UN resolutions express international demands but may not immediately stop actions.
