Nvidia Invests $3.2 Billion in Corning for US Plants

Nvidia is investing up to $3.2 billion in Corning. The money will help build three new plants in the US.

The plants will be in North Carolina and Texas. They will make optical parts for Nvidia.

Nvidia has already paid $500 million. It can invest up to $2.7 billion more later.

Optical parts are in short supply right now. This shortage is why Nvidia made the deal with Corning.

The new plants could grow Corning's US optical output by 10 times. US fiber production could grow by more than 50%.

The deal is also expected to create more than 3,000 jobs. Nvidia wants to replace copper cables with optical fiber in AI systems. Working with Corning helps Nvidia secure the parts it needs.

Klear Note Optical fiber carries data faster than copper cables. AI systems need huge amounts of data flowing quickly. Shortages of these parts slow down tech companies.
