Ohio Rep. Miller Denies Abuse Claims Continues Re-election Bid
Ohio Representative Max Miller denies domestic abuse claims from his ex-wife Emily Moreno. Moreno is the daughter of Senator Bernie Moreno of Ohio.
She has called Miller a danger to their daughter. She said he should not serve in Congress.
Miller has sued Moreno for defamation over her claims. Miller asked for a House Ethics investigation into himself.
The House Ethics Committee has started reviewing the allegations. It is checking whether Miller engaged in domestic violence.
President Trump was asked if Miller should drop his re-election bid. Trump said he would let the families decide.
Trump also told reporters he would look into calls for Miller to resign. Miller said he will not leave the race.
He is seeking a third term in Congress. Ohio Republicans face an August 10 deadline to possibly replace him on the ballot. The investigation and his campaign are both continuing.
