OpenAI Adds Safeguards to Pentagon Deal
OpenAI Chief Executive Sam Altman unveiled a reworked agreement with the Pentagon on Monday night. The new deal provides stronger guarantees that the military won't use OpenAI's systems for domestic surveillance.
Altman held a meeting with OpenAI employees on Tuesday. He said OpenAI does not choose how the military uses its technology. The agreement addresses concerns about military use of OpenAI's technology.
Klear Note — OpenAI makes AI systems that can process and analyze large amounts of information. Domestic surveillance means watching people inside the US, which raises privacy concerns.
