Pennsylvania Reports First Measles Deaths in 35 Years
Pennsylvania's Department of Health confirmed two measles deaths Tuesday. The deaths happened in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
These are the state's first measles deaths in 35 years. Both people had not been vaccinated against measles.
They are also the first US measles deaths this year. Pennsylvania has reported 393 confirmed measles cases. The cases span 28 counties across the state.
Klear Note — Measles is highly contagious, but vaccination helps prevent infection and serious illness.
