Peru's President Ousted in Congress Vote
José Jerí was removed as Peru's president today. Congress voted 75 to 24 to remove him.
Jerí had served as interim president for four months. A scandal involved secret meetings with Chinese businessmen.
This led to his removal. Jerí also faced corruption charges.
He replaced Dina Boluarte, who was also removed from office. Peru has had seven presidents since 2016.
