A high school student shot and killed a classmate Tuesday. This happened in Zamboanga City, Philippines.

He then killed himself. The mayor of Zamboanga City confirmed the attack.

The student carried two pistols during the shooting. He livestreamed the attack using a body-worn camera.

The shooting took place in a secured high-school building. This building was separate from a larger Catholic university campus.

This was the second fatal school shooting in the Philippines. It happened within two months of the last one.

The earlier shooting happened in Tacloban City, Philippines on June 22 2026. Three students were killed and 20 people were wounded there.

Police later arrested two student suspects. Leaders had promised stronger school security after that attack.
