Pilot Crashes Plane Into Beijing's Tallest Building

A 66-year-old pilot crashed a small plane into a skyscraper in Beijing, China. The building was the CITIC Tower also known as China Zun.

It is a 109-floor building in Beijing's business district. The pilot died in the crash.

Thirteen people on the ground and inside the building were injured. Chinese authorities said the crash happened for personal reasons.

The pilot had written about ending his life in his diary. Authorities also noted he had insomnia and anxiety.

He had been living alone after a recent divorce. Content about the crash was removed from Chinese social media.
