Pope Leo XIV to Leave Hospital Saturday After Lung Surgery
Pope Leo XIV is expected to leave Gemelli Hospital on Saturday. The hospital is in Rome, Italy.
Surgery removed a cancerous growth from his right lung. Saturday is four days after that surgery.
He is expected to return to the Vatican after leaving the hospital. The Vatican said blood tests and a chest X-ray supported his return.
Leo XIV had earlier been treated for lung cancer at Gemelli Hospital. He is due to celebrate Mass at the hospital before leaving.
He is expected to lead the Angelus prayer on Sunday. He will lead it from a window of the papal apartment.
