Putin Says Ukraine War Is Nearly Over
Vladimir Putin says he thinks the Ukraine war is nearly over. He spoke during a three-day ceasefire brokered by President Trump.
The ceasefire runs from May 9 to May 11. Trump also said this could be the start of the end of the war.
The ceasefire lines up with Russia's World War Two victory celebrations. It includes a swap of 1,000 prisoners from each side.
But Russia and Ukraine accused each other of breaking the ceasefire terms. Both sides had also broken separate ceasefires before this deal.
Klear Note — Russia invaded Ukraine in 2022. The war has killed hundreds of thousands. Ceasefires are temporary stops in fighting to negotiate peace deals.
