Putin to Visit Beijing to Meet Xi Jinping
Russian President Vladimir Putin will travel to Beijing on May 19-20. He will meet Chinese leader Xi Jinping.
The visit marks 25 years since Russia and China signed a friendship treaty in 2001. Putin will also meet Chinese Premier Li Qiang to discuss trade.
The two leaders are expected to sign a joint statement and other documents. This trip follows US President Trump's state visit to China.
Trump's visit ended with friendly gestures but few real agreements. Key issues like the Ukraine war and the US-Israeli conflict with Iran were not resolved.
Klear Note — Russia and China signed a friendship treaty in 2001. The two countries have grown closer in recent years. Putin and Xi meet regularly to strengthen their relationship.
