Putin Visits Beijing Days After Trump Met Xi
Russian President Vladimir Putin visited Beijing to meet Chinese leader Xi Jinping. The visit came less than a week after US President Trump met Xi.
Putin and Xi talked about energy and security. Xi called for a halt to fighting in the Middle East.
Xi also made a quiet dig at the United States during the meeting. Putin and Xi oversaw the signing of over 40 cooperation deals.
These covered trade, technology and media. The two sides also agreed to extend a friendship treaty first signed in 2001. Russia and China are close partners during the ongoing war in Ukraine.
