Raheem Sterling Arrested for Drug-Driving on Motorway

Footballer Raheem Sterling was arrested on Thursday in England. Police stopped him on the M3 motorway near the Minley Interchange.

Sterling plays for Feyenoord in the Netherlands. He allegedly crashed his Lamborghini into motorway barriers.

Police arrested him on suspicion of four offences. These were drug-driving, dangerous driving, possession of a Class C drug and failing to provide a specimen.

He was later released on bail. Sterling is a former England and Chelsea player.

Chelsea released him as a free agent in January 2026. He then had a loan spell at Arsenal before the incident. A source close to Sterling told The Guardian he felt 'disposable' after a decade at the top of football.

Klear Note Drug-driving is illegal in England. It means driving after using drugs. Class C drugs are the least serious category in UK law.
