Ralph Norman Joins South Carolina Senate Race

Representative Ralph Norman said he will run for a South Carolina Senate seat. He made the announcement Saturday.

The seat belonged to Lindsey Graham a longtime Republican senator. Graham has died.

Norman shared his plans on social media. He also spoke on a Fox News show.

He said he supports Trump's SAVE America Act. He also wants to end the Senate filibuster rule.

Trump is backing a different candidate for the seat. That candidate is Darline Graham the late senator's sister.

Governor Henry McMaster had already appointed Darline Graham to the seat. She has already been sworn in as senator.

So Norman's entry could set up a contest against her. Other Republicans are also running for the seat.

They include businessman Mark Lynch and lawyer Duke Buckner. Representative Nancy Mace has also considered running.

Klear Note South Carolina has an open Senate seat after Lindsey Graham died. A special election will determine who fills the seat long-term.
