Reform UK Wins Big as Labour Loses UK Councils
Local elections in England took place on Thursday. Parliamentary elections also ran in Scotland and Wales.
Early results showed the Labour Party doing poorly. Labour lost control of eight councils across England.
This put heavy pressure on Prime Minister Keir Starmer. Nigel Farage's Reform UK party is on course for a major win.
The party gained around 382 council seats in results so far. Reform UK took full control of two councils.
The Conservatives also lost around 146 to 158 council seats. The Liberal Democrats made small gains. Despite calls to quit Starmer said he would stay in his role.
Klear Note — Local elections happen every four years in England. Councils run schools, roads, and local services. Poor results often pressure national leaders.
