Report: 1,800 Killed in Burkina Faso

Human Rights Watch released a report Thursday. More than 1,800 civilians died in Burkina Faso, West Africa, since 2023.

Human Rights Watch says the army and civilian militias killed more civilians than jihadists did. Captain Traoré and other military leaders may be responsible for the killings.

Human Rights Watch says jihadists may also be responsible. The group asked prosecutors at the International Criminal Court to investigate. They want war crimes by all sides examined.

Klear Note Burkina Faso has faced armed conflict since 2023. The International Criminal Court investigates serious crimes like war crimes across countries.
