Russia Launches 1,600 Drones in Worst Ukraine Attack
Russia launched nearly 1,600 drones at Ukraine over two days. It was the most intense aerial attack on Ukraine so far.
Overall Russia carried out three days of large drone and missile strikes. A cruise missile hit an apartment block in Kyiv on Thursday.
It killed 24 people. A UN convoy delivering aid to Kherson was hit by drones twice.
The convoy vehicle was clearly marked. No staff were hurt.
Ukraine blamed Russia for the convoy attack. The strikes reportedly followed a US-arranged ceasefire from May 9 to 11.
Russia reportedly used that pause to build up drones and missiles. Then it launched strikes right after the ceasefire ended.
Ukraine responded with a large drone attack on Friday. It targeted several regions in Russia including the Ryazan oil refinery.
