Russia Launches Largest Ever Attack on Kyiv

Russia launched a major drone and missile attack on Kyiv on Thursday. It was described as Russia's largest ever attack on Ukraine's capital.

At least 17 people were killed and more than 56 were injured. Some reports put the death toll as high as 18.

Rescue teams were still working at the scene. The attack hit residential areas across at least six districts of Kyiv.

A nine-story building collapsed in one district. Fires broke out across several other districts.

Kyiv's mayor declared a day of mourning after the strike. Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha called it a 'night of horror.' He urged allies to strengthen air defenses and warned the death toll could rise. Russia said it would increase 'pressure' on Ukraine after the attack.
