Russia Ready for Talks After November 10

On Wednesday the Kremlin said Russia is ready to restart talks. The talks would include Ukraine and the United States next month.

The goal is to end the war in Ukraine. Ushakov said Putin agreed in principle talks would resume after November 10.

Moscow said the new talks would focus on a postwar security framework. Kremlin saw little use in proposals from Ukraine and the European Union.

Putin met United States special envoy Steve Witkoff in Saint Petersburg. Witkoff met Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Oslo Norway the day before.

He also met European leaders there and then briefed Putin. Zelensky called for a freeze along current lines as a first step.
