Russia Strikes Ukraine, Object Leaves Crater in Poland
Russia launched a large air raid on Ukraine. It struck the Lviv region in western Ukraine.
The attack killed 13 people in Ukraine. The attack used more than 70 missiles and about 280 drones.
It hit Kyiv, Dnipro and Lviv. Strikes on Kyiv killed at least one person.
The strikes also caused fires. A missile or unknown object left a 10-meter-wide crater in a field.
The site is near Tarnawa-Kolonia in eastern Poland, close to Lublin. Polish leaders said the blast happened about 100 kilometers from Ukraine's border.
Poland sent an F-16 jet to track the object. Polish leaders accused Russia of entering Polish airspace.
Poland's Prime Minister said the missile was probably Russian. He went to the crater site after the incident.
Poland's foreign minister warned against false Russian claims blaming Ukraine. Debris at the site matched a Kh-101 cruise missile. Russia's military uses that missile exclusively.
