Russian Attacks Kill 16 in Ukraine as German Minister Visits
Russian drones hit a shopping center in Kryvyi Rih. The attack happened Friday in central Ukraine.
The city is President Volodymyr Zelensky's hometown. The strike killed 14 people.
It injured many others including children. A day later more Russian attacks killed two people.
The attacks happened overnight in Ukraine. Total deaths from both attacks reached at least 16.
German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul arrived in Kyiv on Saturday. He traveled by special train.
His visit happened while attacks continued. Wadephul discussed German support and defense cooperation.
They also discussed winter preparations for Ukraine's energy grid. The visit came days before Ukraine's 35th Independence Day. Independence Day falls on August 24.
