Russian Oil Tanker Docks in Cuba

Trump said he had no problem with Russia sending oil to Cuba. Hours later, a Russian oil tanker arrived in Cuban waters.

The ship carried 100,000 tons of crude oil. It docked at Matanzas port in western Cuba.

The United States had previously imposed an oil blockade on Cuba. Trump reversed that blockade policy.

Cuba had become more isolated after the United States arrested Nicolas Maduro. Cuba needed the oil as pressure from Washington grew.

Klear Note The US has blocked oil sales to Cuba for decades. Trump recently ended that ban, allowing Russia to send fuel.
