Russian Warship Fires Warning Shots Near UK Yacht

A Russian warship fired warning shots near a UK yacht in the English Channel. The warship was the Admiral Grigorovich.

The yacht had drifted toward the Russian ship before the shots were fired. The Russian ship sent several radio warnings to the yacht first.

No one was hurt and nothing was damaged. A boat from the Royal Navy ship HMS Tyne visited the yacht to check on those on board.

Two Royal Navy ships had already been following the Admiral Grigorovich at the time. The UK Defense Ministry was looking into the incident on Tuesday.

Klear Note The English Channel is a busy shipping route between UK and France. Warning shots are fired to alert ships to change course or leave an area.
