Ship Hit and Drones Spotted as US-Iran Ceasefire Is Tested
A ship caught fire after being hit off Qatar's coast. Kuwait also detected several drones in its airspace.
Both events are testing the ceasefire between the US and Iran. The ship was struck 23 nautical miles northeast of Doha.
The UK Maritime Trade Operations Centre reported the incident. The fire was put out and no one was hurt.
Kuwait's Defense Ministry said its forces dealt with the drones. Iran's Revolutionary Guard warned that attacks on Iranian vessels would trigger heavy strikes on US bases.
The ceasefire between the US and Iran is still in place. But these events are putting pressure on it.
Klear Note — The US and Iran agreed to a ceasefire to stop military attacks. These incidents test whether both sides will keep the agreement.
