Skydiving Plane Crashes Near Nancy France Killing 11

A skydiving plane crashed near Nancy in northeastern France on Sunday morning. All 11 people on board were killed.

The crash happened at 11am. Five of the victims were students on a skydiving experience.

Five were instructors and one was the pilot. The plane banked left and fell almost straight down.

It crashed near houses less than a minute after takeoff. The plane was a single-engine aircraft that had a malfunction shortly after leaving Nancy-Essey airfield.

French Interior Minister Laurent Nunez went to the scene. Police units that focus on air transport have opened an investigation.
