Slow Food Founder Carlo Petrini Dies at 76

Carlo Petrini has died at age 76. He founded the Slow Food movement in 1986.

Petrini died in his home town of Bra in northern Italy. He had been diagnosed with prostate cancer in recent years.

Petrini started Slow Food to push back against fast-food culture. The movement began after the first McDonald's opened in Italy. Slow Food has since campaigned for sustainable food and traditional cooking.
