South Carolina Republicans Face US Senate Primary Runoff
South Carolina Republicans vote Tuesday in a Senate runoff. This is the fourth election in this race since June.
The winner will run to replace the late Senator Lindsey Graham. Darline Graham and Representative Ralph Norman are competing in the runoff.
Graham is Lindsey Graham's sister and a political newcomer. She led the August 11 primary but did not win a majority.
Norman highlights his experience in Congress. President Trump rallied for Graham in Myrtle Beach on August 21.
He urged allies to endorse her. A super PAC linked to Trump spent nearly $800,000 on Graham's campaign.
But some Trump supporters are not sold on Graham. This challenges her campaign despite Trump's support.
Klear Note — A runoff is held when no primary candidate wins a majority. The runoff winner will represent Republicans on the fall general election ballot.
