A court in Seoul, South Korea, sentenced Han Hak-ja. She got two years in prison.

Han Hak-ja is 83 years old. She leads the Unification Church.

She is the widow and successor of the church's founder. The court convicted her in a corruption case.

The case involved former first lady Kim Keon Hee. Prosecutors had asked for a 13-year sentence.

The court found Han gave Kim two Chanel bags. She also gave a diamond necklace through a go-between.

This happened in July 2022. Han was seeking favors from former President Yoon Suk Yeol's government.

The conviction involved financial dealings tied to Kim and Yoon. Both Kim and Yoon are now in prison.
