South Korea Raises Kim Keon Hee's Sentence

An appeals court in South Korea raised Kim Keon Hee's sentence to four years. She was found guilty of stock manipulation and bribery.

Kim is the wife of Yoon Suk Yeol, South Korea's removed former president. Yoon has since been sentenced to life in prison for insurrection.

Her original sentence was 20 months. The court also fined her 50 million won.

A necklace was taken from her and about 20 million won was also seized. Among the charges, she accepted gifts from the Unification Church.

She knew the church expected favors in return. Her lawyers say they will appeal to the Supreme Court.
