Supreme Court Sends Bannon Case Back

The US Supreme Court on Monday acted on Steve Bannon's criminal case. Bannon had been convicted of defying a subpoena.

The subpoena was about the January 6 Capitol attack in the United States. The court cancelled a lower court ruling.

It sent the case back to a district court judge. Bannon spent four months in prison for this conviction.

Federal prosecutors moved to drop the case in February 2026. The Trump administration said it plans to dismiss the case.

Klear Note A subpoena is a court order forcing someone to provide information. January 6, 2021 was when protesters stormed the US Capitol building.
