Taliban Threatens Revenge After Pakistan Strikes Afghanistan
Pakistan carried out airstrikes and ground attacks in Afghanistan. At least 36 civilians were killed and more than 160 were wounded.
The United Nations confirmed at least 28 civilian deaths. Pakistan said it killed 32 militants in the operations.
Pakistan said the strikes were a response to militant attacks inside Pakistan. The Taliban government called the strikes an "atrocity." An Afghan official said the attacks would be met with retaliation.
