Thousands March in Delhi Seeking Minister's Resignation
Thousands of protesters marched in Delhi India on Monday. They demanded the resignation of India's education minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
Most of the protesters were students and young people. The march began early Monday with anti-government chants.
A group called the Cockroach Janta Party helped organize the protest. It is led by founder Abhijeet Dipke.
The group wants changes to India's education system. The protests reportedly began after a leaked exam paper for the 2026 NEET test.
Reports also point to marking errors in CBSE school exams. The demonstrations have continued since June 6 2026.
They are not a single one-day event. Activist Sonam Wangchuk reportedly joined with a hunger strike.
Reports say police have increased presence at the protests. There is also legal scrutiny over surveillance of protesters. The protests have drawn criticism from India's ruling BJP party.
