Three Die at Mexico City World Cup Celebrations

Three people died from suffocation at World Cup celebrations in Mexico City. The victims were a 44-year-old man and two women aged 19 and 48.

They died near the Angel of Independence landmark. Mexico had just beaten Ecuador 2-0 in the World Cup round of 32.

Over one million people filled the city streets to celebrate. The large crowd led to the deaths. Mexico's win was its first World Cup knockout victory since 1986.
