Toronto Police Officer Shot Dead on Duty
A Toronto police officer was shot and killed during a search warrant. The officer was 43-year-old constable Marc Pinizzotto.
He had 18 years on the force and was part of the Emergency Task Force. The shooting happened around 5:40 a.m. in north-west Toronto, Canada.
Toronto Police Chief Myron Demkiw confirmed the officer's death. The search warrant was linked to a March attack on the United States Consulate and other shootings.
Two 19-year-old suspects are connected to the shooting. One was shot by police and is in hospital in a serious condition.
The other suspect named Zara Jabbi is still being searched for. Ontario's Special Investigations Unit is now looking into the incident.
