Train Crash Near Jakarta Kills 14
Two trains crashed Monday night near Bekasi Timur station in Indonesia. The station is east of Jakarta.
At least 14 people died and dozens were injured. A long-distance train hit a stationary commuter train.
Reports say a taxi clipped the commuter train at a nearby road crossing. This caused the commuter train to stop on the tracks.
Then the long-distance train struck it. The long-distance train ran between Jakarta and Surabaya.
A rescue effort lasting nearly 12 hours followed the crash. Indonesia's president ordered an investigation into the collision.
