US President Trump and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni clashed publicly on Saturday at the G7 summit in Evian-les-Bains, France. Trump claimed Meloni had begged him for a photo.

She accused Trump of siding with the west's enemies. Trump blamed the clash on tensions over Iran and NATO. Italy's Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani canceled a planned trip to the US in protest.
